Freedom Forum family is delighted to congratulate Chairperson of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Dharmendra Jha for being elected an Executive Committee member of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ)-a global organization representing 600,000 members in 125 countries.The World Congress of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ)-2010 that recently took place in Cadiz of Spain has elected Jha to the post.

“The prestigious post he ascended by representing all Nepalese journalists and Nepali media is the glory for all of us and the entire country as well”. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and greetings to Jha for reaching to the post of the widely-acclaimed organization like IFJ.We are confident that the greater achievement of Jha, who has long been in the forefront of the Nepal’s campaign of Freedom of expression and opinion and Freedom of press, will help bring this movement to a new height at national and international level. We also hope that he will play substantial role in the days to come to make world community more aware about the problems, achievements and exemplary practices of Nepali journalism.

Freedom Forum is confident that Jha’s activism and efforts will continue to safeguard and promote media Freedom and in the campaign of the professional and physical safety of working journalists in Nepal since democracy will not be meaningful until and unless right to Freedom of opinion and expression, and its corollary press Freedom.
