Freedom Forum held the second lot 5-day Public Interest Reporting Training in Nuwakot, on December 16th 2017.

Greeting all the participants, Project Manager (CS:MAP) Sanjeev Ghimire welcomed the trainers and facilitators, Executive Chief Taranath Dahal, General Secretary Dharmendra Jha and Senior Investigative Journalist Hasta Gurung.

Senior Journalists and RTI experts, Mr. Dahal and Jha shed light on the evolution, principles, scope of Public Interest Reporting sharing the news which serves larger people is public interest reporting.

Adding to this, Senior Journalist Hasta Gurung stated that investigative training is just a tool of public interest reporting.

A total of 16 journalists from various print and electronic media have participated in the training organized under the project “Civil Society Mutual Accountability Project (CS: MAP)”, supported by USAID and implemented by FHI360. This second phase of training held outskirts of Kathmandu involves journalists from the different parts of Nepal (Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading and Gorkha). Among total 16 participants, 3 are females.
