November 2, International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists is marked worldwide in memory of those journalists who lost their lives for doing their job. The day was especially marked in commemoration of the deadly attack and killing of 32 media persons and journalists called Ampatuan Massacre (also known as Maguindanao Massacre) in the Philippines in 2009 and assassination of two French journalists in Mali on November 2, 2013. The United Nations General Assembly in 2013 has proclaimed the day as ‘International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists’.

In today’s podcast, Deepa Adhikari, Nanu Maiya Khadka and Dikchya Raut from Freedom Forum are discussing the long-pending impunity cases of Nepal, why justice has been delayed?, what are the FF’s initiatives towards ending impunity? and why advocacy to end impunity matters?
