Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a process that involves periodic review of the human rights records of the Member States by the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) where Nepal is also a member state. On January 21, 2021, the thirty-seventh session of the Human Rights Council’s UPR working group was held. During this program, the Nepal government presented its national report highlighting the status of human rights and implementation of recommendations from the previous review.
To this, representatives from other member states provided recommendations to further protect and promote human rights in Nepal.
