Objectives of National Convention
The main objective of the convention is to contribute promoting an enabling environment for the improved access to information in Nepal by fostering RTI supportive legislature framework and effective implementation. The immediate objectives are:
- To Increase in key stakeholders' awareness about key freedom1 of information issues, including improved understanding of the RTI as a tool for public accountability, empowerment and guarantee of other fundamental rights.
- Enhance greater coordination and consensus among stakeholders, including civil society organizations, National Information Commission and enforcing mechanism to facilitate better implementation of RTI.
