About Us

Freedom Forum is a prominent non-governmental organization in Nepal dedicated to institutionalizing democracy, protecting and promoting human rights, press freedom, freedom of expression, right to information, promoting audit accountability, open and accountable budget, public finance reforms, citizen engagement in public finance management and citizen participation in audit. Established in February 2005, the organization emerged in response to the political turmoil following Former King Gyanendra’s coup dated February 1, 2005, which imposed severe restrictions on media and democratic rights. A group of media professionals, legal experts, and academics founded Freedom Forum to safeguard Nepal’s hard-earned democratic freedoms during this repressive period.

Internet and Its Safe use: A Booklet

Freedom Forum has brought a booklet on "Internet and Its Safe Use" in Nepali language. At a time when the digital gadgets have been appendage of lives, the booklet is the first of its kind produced in Nepal having plenty of information for everyone for safe use of internet. Focused especially the school children, parents and teachers, the booklet is however very useful for all that spend time for various purposes on internet- education, entertainment, information, business promotion etc. Relevant articles, updates, legal polices on freedom of expression on internet are also included in the booklet. FF expects that the booklet would help parents and teachers for better teaching learning activities in view of the freedom of expression safe on internet.
