Hate speech has become the biggest challenge today. With the advent of internet and technology, it has become more evident in every parts of the world. Moreover, among other digital platforms, social media has become an easy platform to spread hate speech due to its availability and accessibility.
United Nations defines Hate speech as- offensive discourse targeting a group or an individual based on inherent characteristics (such as race, religion or gender) and that may threaten social peace.
In this context, UN has brought Uniting against hate podcast series. The podcasts deal with- what is Hate speech? How does it undermine Human rights? and who is responsible to combat it?
